I have just finished setting up a brand new RDS running on Windows 2008 R2 to replace our old Win2k3 TS. It was mainly setup for remote users to access from the outside while traveling. It sits behind an ISA 2006 server running Windows 2003R2. So here is the issue. I got it all setup with the software needed and had given it the name of TS02 the original server was named Neshobe. after the install was all working I removed Neshobe from the domain and cleared it out of AD. Then I renamed TS02 to Neshobe to take its place on the network. everyone from the outside world can access it just fine.
Now the weird part!!!! Once i renamed it i cannot access it internally from any Windows 7 computers.
- Windows 2008 servers work fine to connect to it via RDP
- Windows 2003 servers work fine to connect to it via RDP
- Windows 7 clients just sits there form a while and then i get the.... Remote Desktop Can't connect to the remote computer .for one of the following reasons...
I have gone as far as renameing it back to TS02 and then changed it again to TermServ due to it not working. I cannot even access it via IP Address same error.
I can ping it by name & IP all day long. No issues. I can telnet to it on 3389 and it hangs like it is supposed to at the connecting with the blinking cursor. but i cannot use the RDC to connect.
