Slower logon when Home Drive GPO Applied

Hi All,

I've been searching the net and have not found a solution to this. I hope that one of you might have the answer.

Have a 2008 R2 server that is configured for RDS.

I need a share on that server mapped respectively for each user.

Example: C:\Userhome is shared as \\RDS-SVR01\Userhome$

On the DC, I have GPO configured as follows:

"Set Remote Desktop Services User Home Directory" = Enabled

"Location" = On the Network

"Home Dir Root Path" = \\RDS-SVR01\Userhome$

"Drive Letter" = U:

Now, whenever I user logs onto the RDS server the above all gets applied, but the user has to wait an additional 30 seconds at the "Please wait for the User Profile Service" Instead of taking 2 seconds to logon it takes 32 seconds.

Any ideas?
