I have seen conflicting information on this, so I am trying to clarify the proper location for a Terminal Service licensing server. My setup is as follows: Two servers are in place, one is a 2003 SBS box, which of course is the domain controller. The other is a 2003 standard server running as a terminal server. At this point I have the terminal server license server installed on the 2003 standard server and it is functioning ok. However I have not installed the user cals yet and I'm expecting the grace period to run out soon. My question is can I go ahead and install the cals or should the license server be on the DC? If that is the case, what is the procedure to move it? Can I just uninstall it on the standard server and reinstall it on the DC and then install the cals? Are there GP changes that I also need to make? Once I have everything changed and installed, how do I know that it is working properly?
