We are having issues with users connecting directly to Remote Desktop server(s) with the RDP client instead of using the DNS name of the load balance cluster. By them circumventing our load balancer it is potentially causing load issues on certain remote desktop servers and prevents us from managing maintenance windows on a server by server basis. Our load balancing appliance is a Coyote Point e350 which we are using to load balance port 3389 to several Windows 2008 R2 Remote Desktop servers. There is no firewall between the client network and the server network. We also are not using session broker.
Is there anyway to prevent this behavior natively with Windows?
